Recruits
In order for recruit to become a full member of SCORN, you must:
1. Be registered on the web site within 72 hours of joining legion.
2. Have Ventrilo installed within 72 hours of joining legion and use it during legion Events.
3. Pass a one-month period as an initiate.
4. After the Initiate period and before the Membership period, there will be a brief period for Private Discussion about that member. If the balance of discussion is in favor of admitting the Initiate to membership, in the opinion of the officers, the member will be promoted to full membership. If the balance of the discussion is unfavorable, the Initiate will not be promoted.
5. Be 21 years of age when you apply.
Play Time/Group Participation
1. Members are asked to maintain a 30% participation rate in scheduled legion activities. We will use the forum calendar and sign up reports to follow participation.
2. Failure to keep a good rate of participation will require a talk with an officer and some understanding of the reasons. If no valid reason is given, you will be asked to improve your rate or be removed from the legion.
3. If you are never grouping and never participating, an officer will talk with you. If we can’t work it out, we’ll ask you to step out of the legion.
Legion Website Activity
1. We do ask that you keep up on the legion web site and use the calendar to sign up for events. If you don’t sign up, we’ll ask that you do before we start an event. You can't participate if you don't sign up.
2. If you have been inactive on the web site and have not signed up for any events, not posted an AFK message for 2 weeks, we’ll assume you are not playing any more and place you in an inactive status on the boards.
If there is no word in 30 days we’ll remove you from the boards and legion.
AFK Guidelines
Aion limits the amount of people we have the ability to guild, so slots in a legion are precious.
1. If you must go AFK for more than 2 weeks you must post a thread in the AFK area of the forums.
2. A member who must AFK for more than 30 days will be removed from the legion.
The member’s name will be placed at the top of the queue for those interested in joining our ranks on their return. Upon space opening the member will be contacted via e-mail. They will have a week to respond to secure their legion invite.
3. Anyone failing to post formally about their AFK will be placed on an inactive list, and after 30 days they will be removed from the legion. They may on return contact an officer to determine their status with the legion. Reapplication may be required depending on circumstances of the AFK.
Behavior
Swearing: We don't mind bad language but don't swear every second word. Please try to be considerate to those who are more sensitive to some words.
Racism/Bigotry: This shouldn't need saying. IF you think that way keep moving, you're not welcome here.
Pride: We are proud of our legion - and uphold our name to people outside of the legion. We have the strength to kick people who don't take pride and cheat, treat other players badly in or out of the legion - no matter who they are.
Respect: We respect everyone as equals, there may be officers and leaders helping run the guild, but we are all in it together.
Responsibility - We keep our promises, we meet expectations, we do what is necessary for the legion. If we can't, we step aside and let someone else who can. Do not say you will be there and then not show up.
Alts, Bots, and Mains
1. SCORN is to be considered a Main only legion. If we level the legion, and there is suitable room, alts may be allowed in the Legion. The lowest alt in SCORN will be kicked if the spot is required. If you put your alt in SCORN and it is not played for 30 days, it will be kicked from SCORN.
2. SCORNED is our alt guild, where the majority of your lower level alts should be associated. If you make your own legion for your alts for bank space, this is quite acceptable. Do join the Scorn communication channel to keep up on grouping.
3. Putting your alt in another legion is not allowed. If you feel the need to run with another legion on your alt, please step out of SCORN.
4. If, At the legion's request, you bring an alt to a legion event, you may roll on gear for that alt. We do ask you, however, if mains of the same class are there, that you pass on that gear for the benefit of a legion member's main.
5. Once a main has been accepted by the legion, you will have to ask for an officer vote to change mains. The changing of mains and bringing your new main up to current requirements are solely your responsibility.
Loot Procedure
1. Loot will be assigned by roll.
2. If you roll on an item/weapon that is not of your primary use without clearing it through other group members first, you will be removed from the legion.
An easy fix for all of this is to link the item in group/alliance chat before looting the item. This eliminates the roll timer and allows for any discussion on the drop if needed.
To link the item in guild chat:
Simply right click on the body of the dead mob, open your chat window, hold control and right click to link the item.
Vent Requirements
It is mandatory that you use Ventrilo. It is a requirement to get into the legion.
You don’t have to talk, but the way we fight in PvP, working as a group, requires you to be able to hear what we are saying.
E-mail Requirement
We require a real world email address for you, we won't cyber you, we won’t spam you, but we need to get in touch with you from time to time!
The easiest way to do this is to just go to your profile on the guild web page and check the box to allow us to send you email! (We can help you find it!)
Leadership
SCORN will be run by its Officers. There is no set number of Officers; how many Officers the guild has at a given time will be determined by the Officers. The highest level officer is the Guild Leader.
Any Officer may be demoted from that position by a simple majority vote of the Officers. Likewise, any member may be promoted to Officer by a simple majority vote of the Officers.
Decisions to promote (from any level to any level), demote (from any level to any level), or boot from the guild will be made by the Officers. From time to time, the Officers may ask for the input of the members either informally or formally by vote. Such input is advisory only.
Members who have concerns about particular Officers or fellow Members (or Recruits) should always feel free to talk to any of the Officers about the concerns. Members are also free to request that a "confidence" vote be called with respect to any Officer, Member, or Recruit and if a total of at least 5 members request such a vote, the Officers will set up the vote as soon as is practicable, and in any event within 3 days. The vote is again advisory only.
